WIA to Receive U.S. Employer Patriot Award

Atlanta, Georgia -- 19 February 2010 -- World Insurance Association, Inc. Group of Companies (WIA, Inc.) has been nominated, and is receiving, the U.S. Employer Patriot Award. Approved by the Department of Defense and the Georgia Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), this award is designed to recognize employers, including supervisors, managers and other personnel who support the employee and their military service. Employers qualify for recognition when personnel policies are in place that supports employee participation in the Guard and Reserve.  

WIA appreciates the critical role all civilian employers play in the defense of the Nation by complying with existing employment laws protecting the rights of employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. The sacrifices companies make allow these men and women the ability to perform duties in an exemplary manner. As more reservists mobilize in the upcoming months, it is imperative for us all to recognize the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA).

WIA is grateful for the sacrifices several of our employees and every individual in the National Guard and Reserve make to protect our country and proudly supports USERRA.
