Brain Injury Awareness Month 2024
Each year in March, The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) recognizes Brain Injury Awareness Month. It provides an important opportunity to bring awareness to preventing concussions and other traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and promoting strategies to improve the quality of life for people and their loved ones living with TBI.
This Brain Injury Awareness Month, CDC is focusing on supporting young families. As a child grows and develops, there are many things parents and others can do to keep them safe from a concussion. For over 20 years, CDC’s HEADS UP has offered concussion prevention and safety materials for parents about how to identify concussion symptoms and what to do if a child has a concussion. Parents can also learn how to properly choose and fit a helmet and car seat, as well as get access to online trainings on concussion safety.
